Pretty please with the TV on the whole. It NEEDS calibrating out of the box. There is a TCL calibration app. But I couldn’t get it to pair with the TV so did it manually. Movie mode preset is the closest to the correct image.
It’s not a TV I could recommend for general SD broadcast viewing. You’re upscaling an SD image by a factor of 16. But for HD and above, Sreaming, Blu Rays. They all look great!
The HDR is fantastic for the price. The TV gets very bright so you’re able to actually make full use of the HDR features. Unlike a lot of other HDR TVs in this price range. It doesn’t have independent brightness and backlight control which would be nice. Hopefully that can come with a firmware update.

Don’t even think about contacting TCL customer service – waste of time.
Loved the price and the technology this promised but unfortunately it did not meet expectations. Looks great and well built. But the picture can be very poor on general HD viewing, however improves on UHD but in HDR it can suffer and is very light. Motion and banding isn’t good.
Tried to improve the judder but it creates a strobe like effect that really hurts your eyes.
Spent alot of time adjusting the settings for the different modes to make it better.
Impresses on some things then disappoints on others.

Bought this TV in the belief that TCL are evolving into a decent brand and the specs for the price are superb. Whilst the picture is impressive on UHD content and it is a good looking tv, there are far too many issues with lip sync on all content, the speech being behind the video, even with all processing off and through the TVs own apps. I’m now trying to return it, which isn’t easy to do when Amazon aren’t doing collections.
